On this last day of round-robin, the eight Canadian boccia team members still alive conquered the day in front of stunned Mexican fans. All members won their last qualifying game and ended first in their pool except for Caroline Vietnieks, who is competing in the same category as teammate Marco Dispaltro.
In the afternoon, the team moved on to the quarter finals and won five games out of six. "We won eight games in the qualifying round and five games in the quarterfinals. 13 victories in one day is the best day of competition in my life. I had never seen this before. I am more than happy" said head coach Mario Delisle.
Tomorrow, boccia fans should tune in. Semi-finals will be held in the morning while bronze medal games will be hosted at 2pm and gold medal games at 4pm central time.
Canada will be competing in all categories except BC1, Keven Smyth-Worthylake having lost in the preliminary round and Brock Richardson having been defeated in today's quarterfinals against Columbian opponent Eliana Henao (2-4). Canada could win up to 7 medals tomorrow.
