Ed Richardson wins a Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Award

The Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association would like to congratulate Ed Richardson for winning a Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Award. The awards were announced during the Sport Leadership Conference last weekend in Ottawa . These prestigious awards recognize coaches whose athletes have excelled at World Championships and/or the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Mr. Richardson is the personal coach for Adam Dukovich who won a bronze medal in the BC2 singles category at the 2010 CPISRA Boccia World Championships in Lisbon, Portugal.

Mr. Richardson is also an assistant coach with Canadian Boccia Team. He traveled to the World Championships in this capacity, where he was responsible for coaching five individual athletes in the singles competition and being the on court coach for the team event. He is also responsible for our Toronto/London Regional Training Centre, the Head Coach of the Ontario Provincial Team and the club coach of the Brampton Cruisers. He is one of the most dedicated and well versed boccia coaches in the country and most deserving of this recognition.
